In a dramatic display of unity, on September 27, many houses of worship on Embassy Row open their doors to each other and symbolically the world. Each year people of all faiths and no faith put aside their differences to build bridges of respect. The impact is huge and the intention is simple: greater understanding, acceptance and friendship. As people come together, they experience a world of traditions through complimentary food, music, art, architecture, and service projects. Join us on this exciting day, to celebrate, to learn, to serve, and to remember.
The event starts at 1:30 PM at the Washington Hebrew Congregation (3935 Macomb St. NW) Service projects are being planned. The walk goes down Massachusetts Avenue headed toward the Islamic Center of Washington (2551 Massachusetts Ave NW). Walking with and talking to people unknown to you is encouraged and found by many to be one of the highlights of the walk.
