Since the pandemic, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington opened new hyperthermia shelters and no longer needed Community of Christ’s building.

Hypothermia shelters operate from November 1 to March 31 when temperatures drop to deadly lows.  The shelters are open between 7pm and 7am when, and if, temperatures drop below 32 F.
